Installing WinZip for Windows

You may ignore this page if you already have a zip file application. WinZip is a decompression tool used to extract zip files.  You will need this for unpacking the contents of the SSW installation script created later.

1.    Save your work and close all programs on your PC.
2.    Start your internet browser and go to the URL:    http://www.winzip.com
3.    Locate the trial version of WinZip and Save the file to your Desktop.
5.    Minimize your browser and locate the newly saved file on your PC Desktop.
6.    Double-click the file to begin installing WinZip.  Click "Setup".
7.    In the next panel the "Install to:" directory listed is C:\Program Files\Winzip (best choice for most users).  Click "OK".
8.    In the "WinZip Setup" panel click "Next >".
9.    Click "Yes" to accept the license agreement.  Click "Next >" three more times, accepting the default values, until the installation is complete.
10.  Click "Finish" and exit the WinZip program.  Delete the file you downloaded in step #3 from your Desktop.
