Group 1 focused on deducing electron distributions
from photon spectra,
and on closely related topics such as spectral evolution,
electron energetics,
and the impact of albedo, a return current, and a hot target plasma
on X-ray spectra. Observations related to electron acceleration models
and the status of X-ray polarization measurements were also discussed.
