Solar Data in SSWIDL
There are numerous solar data sets that provide complementary observations to RHESSI's (click the Solar Data Browsing button on the left). Many of those project teams provide software in SSW to analyze their data. Refer to their web sites for instrument-specific analysis tools.
However, the RHESSI team provides some tools to bring the complementary data listed below into the SSWIDL analysis environment, allowing you to display and analyze them alone, or jointly with other data sets. Please see the Software / Complementary Data Software section for more information on the software.
Fermi, MESSENGER, SOXS
The Fermi Solar Flare Observations page provides links to the Fermi GBM solar flare catalog, quicklook plots, response files, and documentation on analysis using OSPEX.
MESSENGER (2004-2015, primary mission to study Mercury) and SOXS (2003-, Solar X-Ray Spectrometer, PRL, India) solar data can also be analyzed in OSPEX. Please see the AA_README...pdf files on the data directories (AA_README_MESSENGER_SAX.pdf for MESSENGER, and AA_README_SOXS.pdf for SOXS) for more information about these data sets and how to use them in OSPEX.
The easiest way to download the data for Fermi, MESSENGER, or SOXS is by starting OSPEX, selecting 'Browse on remote computers' in the OSPEX GUI, selecting the files of interest, and letting OSPEX copy them to your computer. Or you can download them manually from the following sites:
