Using HESSI Majordomo Address Lists
Here are instructions on how to use the seven majordomo lists that are currently set up. A new feature that is now available allows you to view and search the archives of all the messages that have ever been sent to any of these lists. Go to the following URL and try it:

The names of the seven HESSI Majordomo address lists reflect the primary purpose of the list. They are the following:
hessi
hessi-science
hessi-imaging
hessi-spectroscopy
hessi-idpu
hessi-analysis-software
hessi-outreach
Note that hessi-idpu is for for messages concerning the on-board Information Data Processing Unit.
You may already be subscribed to one or all of these lists. To find out for sure, you can view the lists of registered users by sending a message to majordomo@listserv.gsfc.nasa.gov with the following words in the body of the message (the subject can be left blank):
who listname
where you would replace "listname" with any of the seven list names. You will get a reply with a list of all email addresses that are subscribed to the list.
To subscribe to a list, send a message to majordomo@listserv.gsfc.nasa.gov with the following words in the body of the message:
subscribe listname
where you would replace "listname" with any of the seven list names. To unsubscribe, simply send a similar message to the same address with the word "subscribe" replaced with "unsubscribe." You can send a message to everybody registered with any of these lists by addressing the message to
listname@listserv.gsfc.nasa.gov
where again you would replace "listname" with any of the seven list names. For more information about majordomo, you can go to the following web site:

Alternatively, you can send a message to majordomo@listserv.gsfc.nasa.gov with the word "help" (without the quotes) in the body of the message. You will get a reply with details about Majordomo and what commands are available to get more information about the system in general and the HESSI lists in particular. If all else fails, send me an email with your question or comment and I will try and take care of it for you. Finally, we now have an easily accessible archive of all messages that have ever been sent to any of these lists. It is available at the following URL:

Click on the name of the list you are interested in and you will get access to the message archive for that list. You can display each archive in chronological order or by thread. I will send this message to all seven of the lists so you may receive more than one copy indicating that you are registered with more than one list.
