Welcome to the RHESSI visibilities software page. RHESSI stands for the Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager. My responsibilites on the RHESSI team include development of new imaging techniques and analysis of imaging data. There is very little spectroscopy in my work, but details on that aspect of RHESSI can be found on the RHESSI home page.
Perhaps my biggest contribution to the project is the implementation of visibilities and visibility-based imaging algorithms into the RHESSI software. Visibilities are primarily a radio astronomy based technique, and were introduced to high energy Solar Physics by Gordon Hurford, Richard Schwartz, and my retired former supervisor, Ed Schmahl. Details on the transition to visibilities can be found in one of their talks and in of their SPD Posters.
Below is an image I made using MEM_NJIT. It's a flare from June 16, 2002, in the 6-12 keV range.
