Back Projection
- Most straightforward reconstruction method (Mertz, Nakano, and Kilner 1986)
- Equivalent to a 2D Fourier transform (Kilner and Nakano, 1989).
- Called the "dirty map" by radio astronomers
- A linear process
- Unique in linearity
- Individual Photon Method:
- For each photon arrival time (i), make a modulation pattern (Pim)
- Multiply the pattern by the flux and weight the patterns according to Duroucheaux's recipe
- Pim = Pim - <Pm>
- Pim = Pim / < Pm2>
- Add the modulation patterns together
- For a point source, the maximum equals the total flux.
