RHESSI Source Profiles
Are the spatial profiles of HXR sources really Gaussian?
http://www.lmsal.com/~aschwand/hessi_imaging/hessi_fwd_talk.html)
Is there any reason why they should be?
What can RHESSI tell us about spatial profiles?
Pixelized maps? (Many built-in assumptions)
Pixelized Forward Fitting? (Assumes a shape we are looking for.)
Fourier Transforms? (Matches the hardware.)
Simplifying assumptions:
Single-component (no beating in profile)
Steady (flux variability is small)
Strong (good S/N)
Round (nearly constant amplitude)
Relative Amplitudes
Predicted Relative Amplitudes for model sources
