To be completed by May 31:

The Pixon software needs further testing and optimization. There is a
release 4 version available, however, when the new modulation pattern
routines are put online a major rework of the code will be required. It
is hard to assess at this point how much work will be involved here. It
will be a certainly be a major effort but, after a few discussions with
Andre, I think it is doable. I expect this will be finished for
Release 5 unless there are hidden problems. In any event, I don't see
any reason that it would not be ready by May 31.

I still plan to generate a pixon code using Ed Schmahl's polar mapping
routines. However, this should wait until a stable version of the
current pixon code is available. With the major changes in the
modulation patterns coming up, I expect that this will not be ready by
May 31. However, this is not a big deal as long as the current pixon
code is working.
