HESSI Mission Specific Instructions (optional)

By default, the user will be given the Development Environment.  This environment will allow changes to the SSW software archive to take effect immediately following an SSW update.  You may instead choose to use the Release Environment.  In this environment, changes will only take effect when a major release is made available.  If you are not sure which environment to use, choose the Development Environment.

Setup for the Release Environment:
1.    If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find it here:    c:\ssw\hessi\setup\setup.hessi_env

2.    In the SSW site setup directory, locate the file named "setup.hessi_env".
       If you have installed SSW on your c: drive, you will find it here:    c:\ssw\site\setup\

3.    Open the file "setup.hessi_env" for editing in Notepad.  You will see the following text:

#!/bin/csh -f
#set the root for the SSW hessi directory, generally SSW does this under Unix.
# The default settings will use the development release version.
#To use the HESSI release version, add /release to the path below.
setenv SSW_HESSI $SSW/hessi/release
setenv SSWDB_HESSI $SSW_HESSI/dbase

4.    Add the /release portion to the text as indicated above.

5.    Save the changes and exit Notepad.
