Perl 5.6.0 build 618 is the latest version of Perl and can not be installed without Microsoft's Windows Installer (MSI).
1. Save your work and close all programs on your PC.
2. Start your internet browser and go to the URL: http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/instmsi.htm
3. Click the link that reads "Windows Installer redistributable (x86) v1.1 for Windows 9x"
4. Save the file named "InstMsi.exe" to your Desktop.
5. Close your browser and locate the newly saved file on your PC Desktop.
6. Double click on the file to begin the installation. When the installation is complete, restart your computer.
7. After your computer restarts, delete the file "InstMsi.exe" from your desktop.
