RHESSI Tohban report, 29-Apr to 26-May-2003 Andre Csillaghy, H. S. Hudson 0. Tohbans over the last four weeks have been negligent about writing reports. This report will apparently have to serve for all of them. I (HSH) hope we can keep up better in the future. 1. Solar Activity: The activity level was low, sinking below the B1 level at background. There were only four M-class flares through the 26th, although there is now a likely region producing more of them and with the possibility of a major event. 2. Memory Managment: With the increased activity, the SSR fill level increased to 40%. It did not decrease much yet, as the activity continued during Saturday. 3. Data Gaps: 4. Major operational gaps in solar coverage: We carried out two programs of offpoint practice for the Crab Nebula observations: May 8 and May 23. The latter was not perfect but was judged by Gordon to be good enough for the real thing. The practice brought the spaceraft within 4/10th of a degree of the target, 1.5 degrees south and 1.5 degrees west from sun center. 5. Crab observations: These are now tentatively scheduled for June 11-12. 6. Mercury transit: Martin Fivian reports success in getting a SAS signal from the Mercury transit of May 7. This, with a little celestial mechanics, will provide a clean check on the roll calibration.
