RHESSI Tohban report, 2-Jun-2003 to 6-Jun-2003 Amir Caspi 1. Solar Activity: Activity was moderate but significant this week. There were 7 M-class flares recorded from 2-Jun-2003 until the morning of 9-Jun-2003; 5 of these were observed by RHESSI either mostly or completely. There were also over 50 C-class flares during this period (many or most of which were observed by RHESSI) and a rather high background level. Active region #0365 is now in the west and will be behind the limb in 5 days, but region #0375 is still in the east and relatively near the limb; it will likely produce significant activity over the coming 2 weeks. 2. Memory Management: We began the week with a very full SSR due to last week's high activity, and the level remained rather high all week. Moderate flare activity and a high solar background level kept the SSR fill level above 50% for most of the week despite increased downlinks, with the level rising as high as 80% midweek. The SSR was at 65% as of the first pass on 9-Jun-2003. No changes were made to the decimation tables during the week, and the attenuators operated in 0-1-3 mode all week, with movements due to the M- and large C-class flares. 3. Data Gaps: None that I know of, although we may dump some data during the coming week to free up the SSR for anticipated X-class flares. 4. Major operational gaps in solar coverage: None that I know of, but see above. 5. Tohban: Gordon Hurford takes over until 16-Jun-2003.
