Tohban report for October 12-22, 2003 Paolo Grigis, Hugh Hudson 1. Solar activity Activity was very low at the beginning of the week, with the GOES minimum value below B1 on OCT 14, with only two small active regions on the disk. Then a new AR complex rotated on the disk, and activity suddenly increased with an X class flare on 19-OCT-03 around 16:50. RHESSI observed the peak and decay phase of this flare. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 19 12 2 1 And how many had good RHESSI coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 12 7 1 1 And how many are listed in the RHESSI flare_list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 13 7 1 1 How many RHESSI flares: 112 2. Problems There were some problems on the downlink at Wallops station. Bad data showed up on Oct. 16 03:00-04:25 and 17:55-20:15. Some may not be replayable, but there were no obviously interesting events during these periods. 3. Commanding Decimation rules was set to normal-normal at the beginning of the week. Detector 2 was arcing with the higher voltage settings and therefore its high voltage was lowered again. Commands given: /ihvdac detector=2, voltage=76
