RHESSI Tohban report, 20-Jan-2004 to 26-Jan-2004 Paula Balciunaite, balciunaite@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity Activity was markedly low throughout the week, with the GOES baseline of around B6 last Tuesday gradually descending to B2, where it has remained for the past 3 or so days. Only 4 C-class flares occurred, and only 2 are known to have good RHESSI coverage (the status of today's flare is yet to be determined): 21-JAN-04 00:20 00:36 01:02 C2.3 21-JAN-04 04:02 05:11 05:30 C1.2 25-JAN-04 22:23 22:41 22:50 C6.3 26-JAN-04 06:02 06:10 06:14 C1.6 The two remaining NOAA active regions on the visible solar disk are now nearly out of view, leaving the sun unusually quiet, with merely a slight chance for a few occulted flares in the next couple of days. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 17 14 4 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 12 9 3 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 4 3 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 106 / 35 over the time range 18-Jan-04 25-Jan-04 2. Memory Management The decimation state was allowed to remain normal/normal due to the low activity and thus to a nearly steady decrease in the SSR fill level (from 36% on Wednesday to 16.9% this afternoon). 3. Data Gaps Large gaps occurred yesterday, the appropriate people are notified.
