RHESSI Tohban report, 02-Feb-2004 (Groundhog Day!) to 09-Feb-2004 Steven Christe, schriste@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity GOES Level remained mostly in the B level though solar activity is currently (2/9/04) picking up. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 39 11 1 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 13 4 1 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 3 1 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 43 / 51 over the time range 02-Feb-04 08-Feb-04 2. Memory Management SSR Fill level stayed low all week due to low solar activity. 3. Data Gaps An error during spin-up on monday night caused the the spacecraft to precess off of the Sun. SAS was only able to register 2 limbs from 2004-034-04:04:44 UT (feb 03) until at least 24 hours later. For other more mundane data gaps check the data gap page. 4. Operations Summary Spin-up. Also, the venting valve was opened on 2/4/04 in order to relieve detector arcing. Cooler efficiency has increased most likely a direct result of this operation. 5. Other For the PDA (Palm, PocketPC, etc.) enabled Thoban, I thought I would quickly mention a satellite-tracking program called PocketSat+ which can show the current position of the spacecraft, calculate the time of passes, and show the pass in the sky over a particular ground station.
