RHESSI Tohban report, 10-Sept-2004 to 16-Sept-2004 (DoY 254-260) Steven D. Christe, schriste@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity: The GOES background level remained at mid to high B through the week with a few C class flares and 3 M-class flares. Most of the activity has come from AR 0672 which is now a little past mid-distance across the disk. M4.8 (AR#0672) 20040912 00:04 RHESSI coverage : rise phase M3.2 (AR#0667) 20040912 01:36 RHESSI coverage : whole event M1.5 (AR#0672) 20040914 07:47 RHESSI coverage : part of rise How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 19 21 3 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 10 16 3 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 8 5 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 86 / 43 over the time range 08-Sep-04 15-Sep-04 2. Memory Management: A little tough due to M class flares in addition to extra data from front detectors at night. Also increased particle activity due to a CME from the M4.8. Performed some operations in order to stem the tide. 3. Operations: - On Tues. Sept. 14 (DoY 258), the decimation was switched to Normal-Active, switched back to front detectors off at night. 4. Other - New tool available for Tohbans. Check out http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/~schriste/thesun.php In an effort to make the tohbans job involve less clicking I've tried to bring together most of the information which a tohban would need. I would appreciate any input.
