Tohban report, 2005/08/29 to 2005/09/06 Hugh Hudson (hhudson@ssl.berkeley.edu) 1) Solar Activity: Low, but not utterly low. The M-flare happened on the previous tohban's watch, actually. There is new activity on the E limb that produced an interesting-looking event, badly observed by RHESSI, from one-two days ahead of limb passage. There has also been considerable halo CME activity from this region. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 24 5 1 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 4 5 1 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 3 4 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 26 / 30 over the time range 28-Aug-05 04-Sep-05 3) Memory Management: Memory was well behaved, and we got down to 0% SSR. Nevertheless there were huge particle counts, inducing many shutter changes and the odd data noted below. 4) Data Gaps: A few 300-sec gaps, esp. 9/3 and 9/4. 5) Other issues: There was an odd series of quicklook plots, eg 08:15 28-Aug. The monitor rates don't seem to show the oddness. The monitor plots are not available from Sept. 2. We have no nugget in the works for the 9/26 slot. Decimation should now return to normal/vigorous, fronts on at night 6) Next week's tohban: Iain Hannah
