RHESSI Tohban report, 02-Nov-2006 to 09-Oct-2006 Lyndsay Fletcher, lyndsay@astro.gla.ac.uk 1. Solar Activity In the first few days of the week (02-05 Nov), baseline solar activity remained below B level, with a few B and C flares from AR 921. Baseline activity increased to B2 as a new AR approached the East limb. This AR has produced 3 C flares. It is currently being observed by Hinode (with a brief excursion to follow the Mercury transit). How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 31 8 0 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 8 0 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 6 2 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 34 / 39 over the time range 02-Nov-06 08-Nov-06 2. Memory Management Memory has not been a problem. 3. Spacecraft Operations The decimation was set to normal/active for most of the week, but changed to 'Crab Mode' 8-Nov-2006 18:15:44 UT. This is to cover the Mercury transit; an occultation of a flare event during his time would "give an alternative perspective on imaging and/or provide a confirmation of the roll calibration" (G. Hurford) 5. Next Tohban: H. Hudson
