RHESSI Tohban report, 2-Aug-2007 to 8-Aug-2007 Albert Y. Shih, ayshih@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity Active region 10966 is the only active region on the disc, and, aside from producing two B flares and two C flares on August 6, has been very quiet. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 2 0 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 2 0 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 1 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 2 / 4 over the time range 31-Jul-07 07-Aug-07 2. Memory Management The detector is in normal/active decimation mode, and events are being recorded during the eclipse, but still the SSR empties every day. 3. Data Gaps DATA GAPS FOR 2007/08/01 TIME RANGE: 2007-08-01T00:00:00.000 -- 2007-08-02T00:00:00.000 GAPS IN APP_ID = 1 (VC1-SOH) WITH PACKET RATE LT 30 N_GAPS 1 GAP START TIME GAP END TIME GAP (SEC) 2007-08-01T00:25:00.000 -- 2007-08-01T05:15:00.000 17400.000 GAPS IN APP_ID = 154 (VC1-PMTRAS) WITH PACKET RATE LT 4 N_GAPS 1 GAP START TIME GAP END TIME GAP (SEC) 2007-08-01T00:25:00.000 -- 2007-08-01T05:15:00.000 17400.000 GAPS IN APP_ID = 102 (VC3-MONITOR RATES) WITH PACKET RATE LT 30 N_GAPS 2 GAP START TIME GAP END TIME GAP (SEC) 2007-08-01T00:25:00.000 -- 2007-08-01T00:55:00.000 1800.0000 2007-08-01T17:55:00.000 -- 2007-08-01T18:00:00.000 300.00000 4. Spacecraft Operations On August 2, RHESSI experienced a spin rate anomaly where the magnetometer is aligned with the magnetic field such that the spin rate cannot be calculated, and the spacecraft automatically entered and stayed in idle mode until it was commanded otherwise half a day later. The last time this occurred was a little over an year ago. The high voltage on detector 8 was lowered 4 counts to 2279 V and remains segmented. After considering the expected times for THEMIS command operations and David's schedule, annealing of the flight detectors is tentatively scheduled to start on October 22 or November 5. 5.
