Solar Activity

Modest activity, with two spot groups simultaneously present. Flares above B, C, M, X class were 33 3 0 0, and all of the C flares were on Jan. 21. The best-observed C flare can be seen at http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/~tohban/browser/?show=grth+qlpcr+qli02&date=20100121&time=035102; not much >25 keV.

Memory Management

SSR is at ~10-30%, coming down over the week partly probably due to the cessation of solar activity.

Data Gaps

No gaps in the Obs Summ data. Things look relatively clean, except for the usual sparks and pops, except for the dreadful noise alluded to below.

Other Operations Issues

There is currently a severe noise problem apparent in the lowest two quick-look channels. It began Jan. 25 at about 23:20. Here's a Browser URL that shows it: http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/~tohban/browser/?show=grth+qlpcr+monfs&date=20100125&time=231930.

There is a good example of what looks like the activation of on-board radioactivity by SAA passage at http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/~tohban/browser/?show=qlpcr+monfs+monrs&date=20100123&time=114754. Is this common enough and well understood? But it looks like it is only in one detector, so perhaps this is noise, but why at high energies?
