Solar Activity

Solar activity this week was low. There was only one M-class flare which was produced by AR 11476 just before rotated around the limb. This was the active region responsible for the M5 flares last week. The GOES background is currently at B-class level with only 1 low C-class flare produced in the last 24 hours. There are currently 9 active regions on disk, 4 of these will rotate over the limb within the next couple of days. STEREO B shows another active region will rotate onto the disk in the next few days.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 4 16 1 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 12 1 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 3 0 0

Memory Management

The SSR max this week was 58% and had a minimum of 12%. It is currently at 26%.

Spacecraft Status

Detector 8 began to show an increased count rate coming out of the SAA, taking longer to decay than for the other detectors. The effect is particularly noticeable in the front slow and livetime monitor rates. The detector 8 HV was lowered by 5 steps at 2012-142-15:59:51 UT, bringing the HV down to 3921.6 V.

Data Gaps

There were no data gaps this week.
