******************************************************************************** On 15 August 1991 a modification was made to the BATSE analysis software to take into account the increased absorption by the aluminum window as the detectors become more oblique to the Sun. Previously, we were only taking into account the change in geometric area as a function of the obliquity. In the standard flare plots, the flare count rate has been normalized to that of a single BATSE LAD with the Sun directly along the detector axis. As a result, all of the standard flare plots have been redrawn, and the peak rate and total count entries in the BATSE flare catalog have been recalculated. Also, the most intense flares sometimes have detector rates which cannot be corrected due to extreme deadtime and/or pulse-pileup effects. The standard flare plots for these events have labels to warn users of this possibility. *******************************************************************************
