****************************************************************************** ****************************************************************************** PLEASE READ THIS!!! ERROR IN BATSE SOFTWARE!!! Until November 15, 1991, there was an error in the way our software time-tagged the BATSE data. We had incorrectly assumed that the time associated with a 2.048 second packet was the beginning of the accumulation interval for the data in that packet. Instead, it is the end of the accumulation interval. Therefore, the times generated by our software were high by 2.048 seconds. The error has been corrected and because the data files themselves were not in error, data read after November 15 from older files will be time-tagged correctly. For existing plot files, the "Current:" time label under the plot will tell you whether the plot was made before or after this error was corrected. We truly regret any confusion or misleading results this may have caused. ***************************************************************************** *****************************************************************************
