Miscellaneous Screen Settings - Orientation, Climit Currently this widget has two functions that affect images that are displayed after the settings are changed. They do do not affect any images already on the screen. The orientation button allows the image to be displayed in any of 8 orientations. The current orientation is showed by the sketch of (x,y) directions on the button. Pressing the button changes the sketch and a parameter called !iorder which controls the way images are displayed. The default orientation is TV scan mode with x increasing from left to right but with y increasing from top to bottom. Hence the image origin is at the top left corner. The most common variation from this default has the origin at the bottom left corner. The climit parameter controls how big an image has to be before it gets compressed by a factor of 2 before display. The default is 799 which means that any image with 800 or more pixels in width or height gets compressed. Hence a 1024x1024 image gets compressed into a 512x512 pixel window. If the full image was desired in this case, set the climit to 1025 or greater and PRESS RETURN. It is important to complete the entry with a carriage return or the value will not be updated. To get rid of this window, press help again. To get rid of the tool window and this window, press dismiss.
