mi016.ramesh01 Posted: 07-Jul-96 Updated: Events specified: RADIO OBSERVATION MADE DURING THE SOLAR ECLIPSE 24 OCT 1995 R.Ramesh(1), P.K. Manoharan(2), M.Pick(2) (1) Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, India (2) Observatoire de Paris, DASOP, Meudon, France The recent solar eclipse on 24 October 1995 has been observed at 77 MHz using a north-south interferometer system of log-periodic array at Gauribidanur (near Bangalore, India). During such eclipses, the radio sources occulted by the moon can be studied with a very high angular resolution. The above observation provides position and strength of two discrete radio sources. We would like to compare the occultation results with Yohkoh, H-alpha data and radio measurements at other frequencies. We request for Yohkoh soft X-ray data before and after the eclipse, i.e., 00:30 to 01:30 UT and 07:30 to 08:30 UT on 24-Oct-95.
