RHESSI LEVEL-0 and QUICKLOOK FILES

In order to accumulate and analyze RHESSI data using the RHESSI SSWIDL software, you need the Level-0 and/or the quicklook data files on your computer (or available through an NFS mount).  There are several ways to retrieve the files:

1. AUTOMATIC METHOD

The easiest way is to let the RHESSI software automatically download files when they are needed - please see the Accessing RHESSI Data guide or the RHESSI FAQ for details.  In short, you can enable this feature by typing

search_network,/enable

in your SSWIDL session.

2. MANUAL METHOD

You can manually (via ftp or http) download RHESSI Level-0 and quicklook data files from one of the RHESSI data archives:

  • Goddard, Maryland, U.S.  (http) (ftp)
  • FHNW, Switzerland (http)
  • Glasgow, UK (ftp)

3. WEB FORM

Or, you can use this web form to search for files by time:

After selecting a time interval, a list of Level-0 and Observing Summary files containing data in that time interval is presented.  Check the files you want and submit the request.  The server bundles those files into a tar file and sends you an email message giving you a link for retrieving it.
