Unpixelized Forward Fit

The flare of 2002 Mar 17 appears to be relatively compact, so point source models were fitted to several of the detector profiles.

In simplified form, the equation of fit is simply:

y   =  F   (1.  +  R   {cos(c-)})

where

• F is the source flux,
• R is the relative amplitude,
• is the measured phase of the subcollimator at map center,
• and is the phase offset of the source.
