Recreation

Visitors to the University of New Hampshire are welcome to use campus recreational services. Summer hours for the Hamel Recreation Center are Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM. As well as weight and fitness facilities, campus recreation provides kayaks, canoes, camping gear, and mountain bikes at flat rates. For more information visit Hamel Recreation Center online.

When staying at UNH, no one should pass up the opportunity to experience the beauty that comes with such a prime location as the New Hampshire seacoast. Less than half an hour away are Portsmouth, Hampton Beach, and many other serene beaches that make up the Granite State's thirteen miles of coast. Ninety minutes north and west will bring you to the White Mountains. Whether your passion is cycling, hiking, camping, fishing, or taking a leisurely afternoon cruise down the Kancamagus Highway the White Mountains are the perfect environment to relax and pursue pleasure.

On Sunday, June 18th we will organize a trip to Portsmouth, NH. This city is sometimes thought of as New Hampshire's best kept secret, and one walk through downtown will convince you of the same. Walk the streets lined with shops and restaurants for a wide variety of tastes and budgets!.

Strolling through historic Strawbery Banke is am excellent ways to spend an afternoon. Summer also marks the return of the Music Hall's summer film series. The small theater has built a strong reputation for its adherence to showcasing independent films. Check their website for show times.
