Simulation of the HXT/SXT Reconstruction

The flare loop model above was used to compute the countrate responses for the Yohkoh/HXT collimators, and then this was deconvolved using a maximum entropy program similar to that of Sakao. The resulting map is shown in thick contours in the figure below. The 5-keV model was convolved with a Point Spread Function similar to that of the SXT instrument to simulate what SXT would see (thin contours). The circle shows the half power HXT point spread function used in the simulation.
